About
Amongst the
Pigeons is a
place inhabited by soaring loops and the beating of electronic wings.
Right from the start ATP has been building a reputation for bringing
attention
to detail. Both on record, with artwork and at live shows – gigs
are marked by
such curious sights as dance floors flocked with people wearing pigeon
masks...
It all began in 2005 with ATP’s debut EP, ‘wings wings:
beat’, which was picked
up by Radio One’s Rob Da Bank, developing a fan base that was
augmented by
2009’s album, ‘Music to brush your teeth to.’
Featuring special guests, Frank Turner & Beans on Toast, the album
was well
received and brought DJ slots in Europe and remix work for the likes of
Polly
Scattergood, Justice Force 5 and The Agitator.
In 2010 there was a new EP - ‘Repeat to fade’, which won a
Brighton Music Award
for best artwork. Its tracks along with those from the debut album
formed the
basis of ATP’s live show.
Since 2010 ATP has played live at festivals such as The Great Escape,
Glastonbury and The Secret Garden Party and has supported acts such as
Grass
Cut, SeeFeel, M.E.N and Dodgy.
2011 was largely
spent hidden away
working on ATPLP2 with the odd live show to road test the new material.
The
work in progress demos were often uploaded on Soundcloud and some even
got air
play from the likes of Steve Lamacq (6 music), amongst others.
Recording was finished in autumn 2011 in ATPs very own ‘Beat Shed
Studio’ and the
2nd ATP album is set for release in April 2012 with a single
kicking
off the promotion in March 2012.
2012 looks set to be another busy year and will possibly bring about
the year
of the Pigeon!
Flutter, flutter, miaow, miaow..
